Sell surplus MC and AC cable in Kentucky

Metal-clad and armored cable arrives on site in coils and leaves as offcuts. A cancelled fit-out can leave dozens of unopened 250-foot coils taking up a bay, and they are heavy enough that nobody wants to move them twice.

  • 2, 3 and 4 conductor MC with ground, in #12 and #10 copper.
  • HCF and healthcare-grade MC for hospital and laboratory work.
  • AC and BX-type armored cable, including older stock still in original boxes.
  • Feeder MC in 1/0 through 750 kcmil on wooden reels.
  • Coils with the armor bent or the outer wrap torn but the conductors intact.
  • Mixed pallets of MC, AC and flexible conduit fittings from a closed contractor yard.

How MC surplus is priced

Armored cable is sold by the coil, not by weight, so the count matters more than the scale. We look at the conductor size and count, whether the coil is factory banded, and whether the armor is straight or kinked. A 250-foot coil that has been dragged across a slab is still worth buying, but it is not worth the same as one that never left the pallet.

Kentucky commercial and healthcare work produces most of the MC we see: hospital additions in Louisville and Lexington, laboratory fit-outs, and data hall builds where the electrical scope changes late. Because the coils are compact and stack well, a small number of coils can still justify a pickup.

What to include in the request

  • Conductor size and count, for example 12/2 or 10/3 with ground.
  • Number of coils and whether each is 250 ft or 1,000 ft.
  • Whether the coils are factory banded or opened.
  • Any feeder sizes on reels, listed separately.
  • Photos of the coil ends so the conductor count is visible.
FAQStraight answers

Questions about mc and ac cable

Do you buy opened coils of MC cable?

Yes, as long as the remaining length can be estimated and the conductors are not damaged. Opened coils are common on service trucks and in plant cribs.

Is old AC cable from the 1970s worth anything?

Sometimes. Early AC cable without a grounding conductor is a different product and is priced carefully. Send a photo of the coil end and the jacket print before cutting anything.

Will you pick up a single pallet of coils?

A single pallet can be enough if the sizes are useful. Send the count and photos and we will tell you whether it is worth a trip.
